I have an nos pair of CSS sdx7 and Mark Audio alpair 5. I would like to mate these in a FAST system. I know this has been done before. I can not find any designs or plans on the webs. Any one have any ideas ? thanks
SDX7 fits in 14-21 litres sealed. A midTL or about 3 litre sealed for the A5. Do note that if you get it happening and decide to upgrade, the A5.2/3 is a drop in that will inprove the top. You ar eon your own for XO. CHN-50 is also better, but not a drop-in physically.
I use a pair of SDX7 with A7.3 (gotta swap in my MAOP and drag them upstairs). I am using a 180 Hz PLLXO (supported by the wide baffle)

Thank you. Yes I am thinking sealed in about 15 ltr. The x-over may be troublesome. It looks like they want to be crossed near 1k hz. That will allow alot more than 6 watts to the alpair. Also the alpair looks to need a notch for a 12k freq rise. Going to a dsp would probably be best, but my funds are limited.
Pay no attention to power, it is more or less meaningless.
I would cross lower. I take the newer A5 down to as low as 250Hz.’ The SDX7 also has. nasty ripple that makes it unusable above about 700Hz. That can be fixed. The mod kills the resonance of all those loose fibres that are part of the cone. Also gives the top a nice roll-off at about 1.6kHz.

3 decreasing coats of thinned modpodge. One has to be careful to keep it out of the gap between the cone and the phase plug.
