When playing full range, I'd imagine the MAOP 7 is the one to go for if money is no object. But with WAW, do I want the mono suspension Alpair 7MS (or Alpair 5), or do I want MAOP 7 with the fancy coating?
Hard question. One i have not answered. At some point i will… both in the same WAW.
A7ms has advantage of monoSuspension, MAOP better controlled cone.
Perhaps the MAOP 5.3 would give both og those advantages as well as having better top. Won’t paly as loud, can’t cross as low.

Is MAOP 7 dBSPL 85.8727 a lower spec than it actually measures? The on-axis Fq res plot MA post only drops to ~ slightly + and - 85dB at 400Hz, 1.7K and 4.5K, most of the time it appears to me to average in the 87dB - 87.5dB range.
Also, how sonically annoying is the steep rise at 8K, 9K 10K and 14K?
