I anyone out there still using Liberty Audiosuite? I've been getting great results from it for about twenty years. Last week, I moved my equipment around,
which involved disconnecting and reconnecting a few cables and I've now managed to lose the second calibration channel. So I can't do dual channel measurements any more - there's no signal on the bottom half of the screen. Single channel measurements work OK and I could probably live with that if it weren't for the fact that I've also lost the ability to do impedance measurements, which is critical (obviously).
So I guess it's likely to be a wiring problem, but I can't figure out what I've done wrong. I'm using the Echo card with the standard Liberty mic amp. Unfortunately, there's no drawing or photograph in the manual of how to connect the mic preamp and connection box up. I've checked all my cables for continuity and everything seems fine. I've also tried many different possible combinations of wiring but the second channel remains stubbornly unresponsive.
Any ideas? I have a backup Echo card, just in case.
By the way, this problem has forced me to look at some more modern testing software. I've tried Holmresponse, which I couldn't get to work at all, REW and Arta, neither are of which are very user-friendly. It might be because I'm used to it, but I'd still take Liberty Audiosuite over any of them. 🙂

I don't have the system, but did find an install and config document easily enough here:
http://www.libinst.com/Installing and Configuring Liberty Audiosuite.pdf
The diagrams in that document make it appear to be no different than the "ARTA jig" that most people would use with ARTA. The probes are just simple voltage dividers, so first check in troubleshooting would be simply to get out you multimeter and check the wiring.
For a modern alternative, I would definitely recommend ARTA. It's not difficult software to be honest. Holmimpulse is already obsolete and was only a single channel system to begin with. REW unfortunately is "semi-dual" capable only, it will use the second reference channel for a timing reference only, not to compensate for any non-linearities of the signal path or compensate for inclusion of protection capacitors, etc. ARTA will provide true dual channel measurements.

Thanks for responding, DcibeL. I already have the manual and have measured the wiring with a multimeter but can't can't see any discontinuity. I'm assuming that something isn't correctly wired, but it could be a fault somewhere else in the system. I was hoping someone could advise me where to look.
ARTA is still problematic but REW seems to be producing sensible frequency response measurements now. I'd like to use ARTA eventually, and already have the ARTA switch box, the Stage Line mic preamp and Transit sound card, but I need to get something up and running quickly if I can't rescue Liberty Audiosuite.

I still use LAUD. I have at times had issues with cables, but it always turned out to be at the test point end, either a resistor solder termination or the alligator clip connection. I always solder the wire to the alligator clip to ensure a good connection. I use the Multisound Fiji sound card.
