2SC5200 & 2SA1943 Buying Recordation’s

Has anyone got any recondition where to buy Genuine 2SC5200 & 2SA1943 Mouser and Profusion have neither in stock, AliExpress I have 6 of these hear nice magnetic backs and get dam hot that’s the good ones the bad ones take themselves out and the divers.
Amazon and eBay is again pot luck, RS have them in stock works out quote expensive but they are Toshiba, but I understand they are no longer made so how do they have them I can’t believe RS would be fakes.

The On Semi FJL4315 / FJL4215 are direct equivalents to the Toshiba devices as stated in the data sheets - but I think these are hard to source at the moment as well. The Toshiba devices are not obsolete yet , but are only made to order and none of the major distributors are showing stock of both. The RS ones will be genuine, so grab them if you really need them. Digikey have the 2SA1943 in stock but no 2500's. Element 14 are showing that they are waiting on stock to be delivered in a few months of the Toshiba devices.

Thank you very helpful post I think I will go with RS it’s stage why they sell one of the transistors in units of one and the other in units of 5, the Only plus thing is getting the best match, any way thanks again.

TTA/C is a smaller-die version of the original 2SA/C. FJLs are the full size. They have equivalent power and current ratings because the smaller dies were shown to have equivalent power handling and gain at high current. Larger dies do not use the extra area as efficiently due to local current hogging. The average temperature on the die does run lower on the bigger ones, though. A smaller die with “equivalent” capability is easier to drive and the non-dominant poles that eat into phase margin get pushed up in frequency because of the lower capacitance. On Semi jumped on that bandwagon with the 0281/0302 and they have become quite popular.

My browser tells me minutes ago Mouser has plenty, both Toshiba and Onsemi.
Or what am I missing ?

Toshiba is the original, ON (Fairchild) is a faithful copy. Interchangeable enough to use as alternates in production. Differences are much smaller than the delta between the 2SC3821 and ON’s MJL. There are always going to be differences, similar to the difference between Old Motorola 2N3055 and the ST or RCA epitaxial version. Audiophiles will of course hear all manner of subjective differences between them. I would use whichever you could get at the time. ON is going to be more expensive now, but $6 and in stock beats $3 on backorder when there is a deadline. As we have seen what’s in stock changes almost daily. The only thing I wouldn’t do is mix them in parallel. Using Toshiba NPN and Fairchild PNP, no problem. QSC does it all the time. If you are chasing that last little iota of subjectivism or that last .0000000008% of 5HD, then you deserve the hassles of dealing with supply chains While the rest of us get our amplifiers working.

Continuing the fake transistors subject same amplifier, I'm still fixing i have come across more fake transistors, i need 2SC3421 its paired with 2SA1358 also 2SB649A Paired with 2SD669A the first problem is the first two i mentioned i fitted purchased from eBay in the picture left hand side (you can see the crack), the one in the middle came from AliExpress the one on the right the original.
I cant seem to find these transistors from any of the reliable companies eg RS, the supply rails in the amplifier is quite high which weeds out the fakes, because they break down its plus and minus 55 volt so I'm looking for a good 120v Minimum Collector-Emitter Voltage voltage any idea on equivalents for these transistors.
Still wondering weather to fit the new AliExpress ones.
