Hi guys, i'm new here. i have just purchased a linn basik turntable. i noticed it gets hot just behind the on/off switch, is this normal. would anyone have a circuit diagram for it. Thanks in advance
It's possible that's normal, but don't know for sure. There's a large wirewound resistor (R1) on the little PCB. Does yours look like the pic? That's most likely where the heat is coming from.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply. I've not had it dismantled yet, i'm a bit wary really, the guy i bought it from mentioned he had replenished the bearing oil so i'm a bit worried about turning it upside down to get at the board, in case oil spills out everywhere. Thanks for the pic, It looks like R1 is the only component on the board that's going to heat up to the point where its almost to hot to touch, do you know its value?

I found an old thread on the forum here where the poster said it was 4.7k.do you know its value?
