Hi all ... as an offshoot to another post ... what temperature would you expect to see on a SOIC or SOP IRS2092 IC under normal running conditions on a commercially produced pcb with supposed adequate heat sinking?
Ok I'll put it another way, the 2092's are running at 60c into 2x irfb4227 (6.8ohm gate resistors) into 8ohm load just short of clipping for 40mins.
Does 60c sound hot in this context?

I believe that you may get differing opinions on driving a pair of 4227's with an IRS2092.
It can work although the IRS2092 will get quite warm.
With the IRFB4227, I prefer to use totem pole drivers and let the IRS2092 take it easy.
One other variable is the gate drive voltage. I assume that you are in the neighborhood of 12V.
