Looking to find an affordable passive preamp and not waiting the month plus for international shipping. Located in US. 10k resistance preferred. Thank you.
Hi,
Should it be remote controlled or not?
Standard Pot or Resistor network?
Finalized device or just parts only?
Maybe these will be an important options...

Schiit makes very inexpensive one, two inputs switch, pot, one output.
I have a Schiit SYS that fits this description. I believe I paid $50 shipped for it a year or so ago. If you're willing to offer close to that, give me a DM.

Just adding to the Schiit recommendations, I've been running a Saga for years, and it's been great... and sounds like 'nothing'.

If you're strictly using a digital source, a cheap and easy solution could be to just throw a set of resistors or step-down transformers in the path that will allow for your highest desirable SPL, then you could make fine adjustments through digital volume. Yes, you're throwing bits away this way, but it won't be noticeable until you approach, say, a 40% attenuation...
Some may argue that you couldn't get a more 'pure and transparent' passive pre-amp than this.
