Best turntable

Hi, Depending on where you are I would go for a Lenco 75. As it is it is not a bad table. BUT when moded (see Lenco Heaven) in can be made into one of the best sounding T/T in the world.
Initial cost $140, final cost after replacing arm & making plinth at my DIY club under $2000

Cheers

Whoa those are Quasi balanced! Must be way better than just semi balanced. lol In all fairness they do include a decent set of cables with their TTs.

The laughable marketing B.S. aside, the Debut Carbon DC is a decent TT for the money. I started with one and upgraded the platter to acrylic then a Dennon DL110. Soon after I had to check out the deeper end of the pool though. 😈 It's no SL1200 but it sounded pretty good for a $500 TT. Entry level yes, but probably plenty for most 'normal', non-audiophiles. :hphones:

Nothing wrong with the pro-ject recommendation, I'm currently running an RPM with carbon S-arm, very nice sound...but if I where looking for a $500 table right now that sounded and looked great, was easy to repair, great long term resale value with street cred in every city in every nation of course you would buy a used 1200 (mkII?)
