Hi, I some weeks ago I had problems with lm317 from tme. Use test points for cheking power supplies. Must be around +—16volt Maybe I had defective batch.
At last, I used to220 ic looking for pinout...
Lm3886 maybe a problem. Tom sold me one pair with pcbs, but he told me that he depleted all TFs. Ask him

Thanks for all that, I did email Tom but he's on holiday at the moment. Will see if I can hunt down the LM3886.

Couple of other quick questions that someone might be able to answer whilst Tom is away:

(1) I was going to use an SMPS supply which I may still use but might consider a linear supply. Would a 200va, 2 x 20v secondaries be acceptable? (It's under the recommended voltage but I don't need all of those watts)

(2) Does anyone have any power 86 boards going spare...

Hi again. I have built two systems, one with mono principles, i.e. Two chassis and two trafos (2x25v and 160va) and other with connex 300 reh. I did not feel differences, to be honest.
I am waiting for toroidy supreme 2x22 and 60va because standard trafo is very noisy... With connex zero noise.
I did not need a lot of power becuse my speakers are of 15ohm (esl57 never sound better), so 60 va maybe enough...
I built a lot of systems, ss, tubes, with SE or PP. For me m86 is the ultimate and definitive amp.

Voltage Regulators and the lm3886 Chips will be difficult to find , but instead of 1.5ohm 3w you can use 2.2-4.7ohm 3w
instead of the pw caps you can use any Panasonic FR, FS,FC series .

Thanks for all the responses and substitution suggestions, I'll see what I can organise this week.

I think I'll compare a micro audio SMPS from Sami and a linear supply.

I'm based in the UK bullittstang and I'm only after 2 for this build but I'd also happily take a few more if noone else wants them just in case
I decide on another neurochrome build at some point.
