Hi there community, relative noob here. I have built a few simple items in the past (few speaker kits, cables, some class d stuff, etc) but came down with neurological disease that has basically made my hands useless for small electronic projects. My much beloved dia-100 mk1 has some serious channel drift and sounds real dark (caps suspected). I have learned the mkII is improved and I would like to bring it up to mkII or preferably much better performance. I'm hoping to find some help in figuring out what actually might be best to do but... ALSO looking for anyone in the UK that might feel able to help me to do this work as I simply cant. Anybody in the UK that can help? I can't walk much anymore so I'm at home all the time and listening to music is the only thing I have left so any help greatly, greatly appreciated. Dunno about Channel drift issues.
But IF memory serves the initial DA100 was an erm... Audio Dog.
Dark, muddied and a real bass heavy thumper and with shrill highs..
My audition was memorable, decades later.. even the sales shill was squirming.
Aragon had a good reputation.. previously, but the Acurus seriously dented that reputation.
The factory was forced to immediately redesign the thing in order to sell any.
Notably Aragon disappeared .. only recently resurfacing as a 'new owner' brand revival effort.
Before spending Large .. Consider carefully an Alternate more capable amp ?? .. Used is Good. ..as Most any decent Amp will prove an Epiphany for your ears.
