Amusing "stereophonic" exercise I discovered while trying to remove ear wax. As described below, it didn't seem to loosen the wax, but produced an enjoyable effervescence.
Ingredients:
1 cotton ball
Regular (3%) Hydrogen Peroxide (Some sites recommend dilute 1/2 with water, but this is for ear drops. I have had no ill effect from using 3%) Usual disclaimer: do your own research and I assume no responsibility.
tear off a small amount of cotton and form into a small plug that will fit into each ear. Soak each with peroxide and insert gently. Try to not puncture your ear drum, which would make it hard to enjoy the effect. It should not be a big risk with something as sharp as a wad of cotton.
Sit in a quiet room and enjoy the show for several minutes. Recreational drugs (optional) may enhance the effect.

I was told by a medical professional years ago not to use cotton wool in my ears. She explained that individual strands come loose from the wad and they tend to mix up with earwax to form a plug over time. Which makes getting wax out of the ear much more difficult. This applies to cotton buds as well.
There is a product that French Doctors prescribe for rinsing your ears in case of outer ear infection (Otitis Externa) called Alcool Borique.
As far as I know, it is a solution of Ethyl Alcohol and Boric acid crystals in water. No I don't know the ratios of reagents. Anyway you pour it into your ear, and then let it run out onto a tissue.
Very effective cleaning. Then antibiotic drops are applied. They also prescribe some sort of anti-inflammatory tablets, which reduce the blockage within half an hour.
You can't get this treatment in England, being considered dangerous for some reason. We mess around with almond oil and the like. 🙂
Nasty thing, an ear infection. Sometimes picked up swimming.

Common soft peroxide injected with a syringe. Not recommended on inflammation. If you like some introspection, prepare your ear with a few drops. Do that on a rainy day and then take your fresh cleaned ears for a walk under an umbrella to discover a whole new world!
I don’t get it. I keep my ears clean and the only thing I’ve been told is to not clean them so often. Apparently there is an antiseptic quality to the wax so a little is a good thing. I now only clean every two weeks vs. every week.
You can (should) get it ready made at the Pharmacy but if unavailable, dissolve 5 grams of Boric Acid powder (1 small pouch) into 1 liter Medical grade Ethyl alcohol. There is a product that French Doctors prescribe for rinsing your ears in case of outer ear infection (Otitis Externa) called Alcool Borique.

I know, you just made 2 years worth of it, but hey, it does not degrade, lasts forever.
It is dangerous (same as peroxide and any other "aggressive treatment") IF you have perforated eardrums, not otherwise.
Thanks for the replies. I consider 3% peroxide safe enough. While the formulation may vary, H2O2 is a recognized treatment for ear wax removal. And that is according to "reputable" web sources, not the crackpot ones that claim one can cure cancer with apple cider vinegar, or whatever. Cotton balls get stuck? Perhaps, but I'm not too concerned*. Normal uses of the solution have it poured or droppered in. A soaked cotton ball is likely to release little liquid. Based on two applications, I can't say it has loosened nor removed any wax.
I will stick to the method I've used for many years -- using the nail of my index finger to dig it out. 😎
*Just because a physician recommends [against] a particular product or procedure, does not mean that it is [isn't] safe. I could supply you a long list of claims that was once medical canon that later proved to be erroneous or perhaps at times deadly. Despite best efforts this remains a problem. And have you ever noticed how they say things like "There is no proof that X is effective." Well, that may be true, but we're not commissioning a study here. The relevant question to a patient should be "Perhaps you're right, but is there any reason to think it's harmful. If not, why not try it?" I still use doctors, but I don't accept on blind faith everything they say, nor do I have unquestioning faith in their integrity. If you've ever been prescribed a drug that costs $178 on prescription but is available over the counter for 1/20 the cost, you will begin to understand why I'm a skeptic. That, among other reasons, is also a reason I'll never use that doctor again, if I can avoid him.

There is a famous novel, in it 'cold peroxide' is used by the hero's mother to clean his ears in childhood.
It is described as bubbling and fizzing in his ear.
You can look it up, possibly a low strength formula.

I stay away from Doctors. Only unhealthy people go to them! 😀
Cheap Entertainment tonight is a wheeze my Dad taught me. You know the situation when you can hardly breathe? And, AFAIK, once you stop breathing you are DEAD.
Which is a worry. 🙁
Sinus cavities seem to be blocked with germs. Plant pollen and dust irritating your nose. Traffic pollution causing untold problems?
I am tired of people whining about this. All you need to do is sniff Salt-Water. NaCl is the very electrolyte of the Human Body. You probably have 5 Pounds of it already!
How anybody can say Salt is unhealthy defeats me. But of course Sea-Salt, with a variety of minerals, is an entirely different prospect from Rock-Salt.
Alas, people trust Doctors. What do they know?
Further Research indicated on Jock Itch and Athlete's Foot. Beaten me so far. But not Fatal. Which is to say that on a Scale of 1 to 10 they are not too serious. 😎

Fungal infection.
Coconut oil with camphor added works.
Or use Clotrimazole cream, or similar.
Same medicine available as powder also.

Rustles into Medical drawer....
Finds product called Canestan...
Contains 1% Clotrimazole!
OK. I'll run it up the flagpole. I hate itchy feet.
Contraindications, a section I always read, include WEAKNESS and NAUSEA.
Let's see how it goes. Many Thanks. 🙂
(Coconut Oil is hard to find in the UK. Never mind Camphor.)

Not likely, unless you eat it, or have open sores.
Or are allergic, of course.
Keep your feet dry, change socks every day, and wear a different pair of shoes for one day in a week, let the shoes also dry out.
That means normal shoes for the rest of the week.
Some shoe materials are not breathable, the sweat accumulates, and causes issues.
Bear that in mind.

Ask an Indian or Sri Lankan friend for shops selling Coconut Oil and Camphor in your area.
Coconut Oil has some properties that are not found in other edible oils, very popular in South India.
Also, get yourself checked up for diabetes, high sugar levels feed infections, particularly fungal infections.
Diabetes is very common in elderly people with erratic food habits, and living alone.
You can ask a doctor about it, if you are able to use the NHS facilities it will be at a low cost.
Moderators, admins, please let it stay, it is helpful for elderly people, though not audio related.

Steve, all salt is sea salt. It originally washed down from the hills and into basins, and mined rock salt came from a previous body of water. What they call sea salt nowadays is simply from a current body of water. The less refined it is, the greater mineral content it contains.
Nobody worth their salt says it’s unhealthy, they simply say control your intake.
But you know all this.

Cal, I know a bit about Chemistry. I assure you Sea-Salt contains Iodine, Magnesium, Potassium and other important trace minerals.
Rock Salt has through the Eons concentrated down to unhealthy pure Sodium Chloride. Which replaces the others. Alas, Rock Salt is cheaper, so thus causes us trouble. Well, my theory anyway. I always top up my Magnesium levels in modern society.
Nareshnaji (if I still remember the idiom), curiously, I did visit our local NHS Doctor surgery today. But only to update my 'Phone number since I have switched providers.
I am keen to get Text notifications on my 4th. Covid-19 jab. Can't wait!
As far as I know, all systems are functioning normally in my body. No diabetes, good food habits, though I do feel alone at times.
But I put this down to being very much a one-off, if you follow. My Mother always said I was an exceptional Child.
But Mothers always feel that way about their Children, so I don't let it go to my head. 🙄
My Ayah always thought I was a very naughty boy. I tested her patience, I admit it.
Acha, you may be onto something with shoes. Unhealthy things:
What I noticed mostly about this superb piece, is the Dancer wore no shoes.
Whereas my Dad told me off a lot about not wearing them in the garden. I learned early to look out for Snakes. Not bad animals when you understand them.

Rock salt has more minerals, and is way more expensive than sea salt here.
We get Himalayan pink salt, about 40 Rupees a kilo, as crystals, powder is 100 and up.
Sea salt as crystals is about 3, iodine added salt is 6 to 20 for a kilo, depends on brand, my city, which is nearer salt works than most of my country.
Perhaps I should have said 'undiagnosed diabetes is a common problem in elderly people...', that may have been more clear.
