Lotus – Double Mouth MBVR for Mark Audio CHR-70 1v0

Hello folks,

Does anyone have any experience in comparison between the Frugel-Horn Mk3 for Mark Audio Series 7 and the Lotus – Double Mouth MBVR for Mark Audio CHR-70 by Wooden Design/ Scott Lindgren regarding LF performance? Thank you very much!

Greetings Steve

Steve,

I also replied on the FH MK3 thread - adding a few more lines here. 🙂

I built both the FH3 and the Louts BVR speakers long time back. From memory, the FH3 had a deeper sound stage and better imaging. The Lotus had a more diffused presentation (but possibly taller). I built the FH3 with a removable baffle and had the opportunity to experiment with different drivers. To my ears it felt most enjoyable with the Alpair 7.3.

I tried the Lotus with a single driver and also with 2 drivers by adding the side-firing driver. The side-firing driver adds more bass and you can crank it up a bit more.
