PSB Stratus Mini VIFA midbass confirmation

You guys are correct. I thought the pair I recently sold were also the marked ones.

The stratus mini sound super nice with strong clean running amps. But they are less than efficient to say the least. I suspect the crossovers are to blame for them being as current hungry.

I became curious how active would sound, so I hooked them up active. I thought I may of over driven them and damaged a driver but I was wrong. It was just a wire making contact inside.

If you want a nice flat response from a small 2 way, in most cases a judicious amount of BSC is needed, which on a small baffle will kill efficiency - sometimes dropping to low 80s dB/W. What size series inductor is on the midbass LP?

Its not a problem my 2ch amp has no trouble with them. I was noticing and reflecting back to when some others has pointed it out.

I did not check values of those coils. I'll try to track down a full schematic of the xover.
