DML panel with Aiyima

I wanted to have info to build an inexpensive "sounding picture". I had thought of two cheap speakers from the Chinese brand Aiyima. I don't know the maximum size of the panel, the best material, which impedance to use when thinking of a class T amplifier, Where to place the speaker, the need for weights, etc. etc.

This video from Tech Ingredients outlines the basic workings of a DML panel speaker.

He notes that the best places to put the drivers are at thirds locations and that different materials are best to use for different frequencies. In general light and stiff materials work best. Stiffer and light will be good for producing high-frequency sounds, while stiff and heavy are good for producing lower-frequency sounds. Pink polystyrene foam board is described in the video to be a pretty good all-rounder, while acoustic ceiling tiles seem to be good for more bass.
Your best bet is to buy a cheap calibrated microphone like the Dayton IMM6S and measure to see which materials fit your need. Placing another material on top of your base material for the "picture" is going to make some changes to your frequency response, so keep that in mind.

I've attempted building some speakers with these techniques but I don't think I'd use them for anything other than background music, they lack the resolution that most regular cone speakers can give.
If you make some measurements with different materials, I'd love to hear your progress and findings!
