LL1681 MC stepup (pair- one is defective)

Two Lundahl LL1681; one is okay (on a Vero-Board with screw terminals).
The other one is defective: one of the secondary coils is not making contact with the connection pin.
I tried to open it once, but then gave it to it.
The single one can maybe be used for mono pickups?
