Working through this one, and pads R4082/R4087 have a single 3w resistor soldered between them. The resistor runs 300+F degrees and smokes slightly and is discolored and discoloring the board. I'd like to replace this resistor with a 5w. Off the board this resistor is measuring 7.8k, but looks like this is either a 10K or maybe even a 10/100/1000 ohm resistor. Any idea what the value is supposed to be?
If you have a reason to measure the rail voltage in this amp, please post it. Don't worry about it if the amp is back together.
Parts obtained. Rail voltage is +-115.5vDC.
Another note, this amp has turn-off delay with REM. The amp continues to draw about 0.3A for 15 seconds until final shut down upon removal of rem. Sort of like JL 500/ amps. I'm not sure what that is controlling but likely something similar to the JLs. I do not need to further investigate. Amp appears to have about 3 secondary power supplies. One is for the MTX style PS.
I'm about to finish this amp this afternoon. Let me know if you need anything else.
