I built and initially biased my F5 going into summer last year. Lately with the onset of winter the ambiant temperature has dropped down into single figures. Yesterday I fired up the F5 when I noticed it sounded a little thin. I checked the bias and noticed it had dropped down from 0.59 to about 0.56v, DC offsets had gone up to around 10mV.
Is this normal when ambient temps change this much?
When I built and biased the amp, ambient temps where about 25degC., they're now down around 8 degC. I checked the thermistors, they've not moved. Bias voltage are stable so I figure the thermistors are good, its just the bias dropped as outlined.

yes tyres on my 4WD seem to be effected by seasonal temps quite a bit... ~4 psi swing.
actually is was the soundstage that drew my attention at first, it became narrower.
My rooms is treated, 1st reflections, front corner traps and curtains front and rear walls.

Oh please, that is NOT a difference to be worth speaking about and it´s impossible to hear any change.it had dropped down from 0.59 to about 0.56v, DC offsets had gone up to around 10mV.
"Soundstage"??????
A very ill defined concept at best , and unaffected by what people often think does.
Sound will be as affected as by car tire pressure or the phase of the Moon.
I know what I hear. I'm not saying bias was to blame which is why I mentioned seasonal temps. Where I live temps mid summer are well into the 40's and mid winter often below 0 degC. and the humidity swings significantly! Audio systems do sound different with the seasons, anyone who understands ballistics and or acoustics could explain to you why! Maybe your room acoustics suck so much you cant distinguish the difference between a fly and a fart!Oh please, that is NOT a difference to be worth speaking about and it´s impossible to hear any change.

AC power changes with time of day and seasons. This can change bias and sound.
