Good evening or good day, depending where you are.
I just moved to a new condo and I was looking for a sound system stand and a way to store some of my records. Most units are multimedia units that have small drawers and not deep enough for turntables. There are some commercial offerings but they are very expensive. My next plan was to build my own using "russian plywood" or american walnut.
I did have to go to Ikea to pickup some items, but I usually find their furniture to be on the cheap side (won't last 20 years unless you just look at it). To my surprise, I found a solid work bench with interesting dimensions. Took the measures and looked at it from many angles... and decided to get 2 of them and cut about 10" from the legs. Here's the result.
Still a bit messy... but you get the idea. I love it. Ikea BROR, 2 units at $189 CAD each.... so about $400 for the set. The top is plywood, the legs and shelfs are metal.
Let me know what you think.
