Now this will definately be an eclectic mix, but might interest a few. I have great admiration for those on the fringe of the music collecting hobby who hunt out 100 year old recordings no one has heard of then release them for our pleasure (or not).

The oldest recording in our collection, on an EMI 'Dacapo' LP transferred from 78s, is the 1926 recording of the Beethoven Violin Concerto by Fritz Kriesler; despite the poor sound by most standards, it's magic.

I've got an absolutely fascinating CD of recordings by Joachim, Sarasate, and Ysaye from 1903, 1904, and1912 respectively. Truly amazing to hear these pioneering masters over 100 years later. Humbling.
