Hello--
Apologies if this post is not in the right place or is otherwise inappropriate.
My last order from an eBay seller I've used a few times was placed the night before Putin announced his invasion of Ukraine. The seller is a Russian gentleman who has always provided excellent prices, shipping, packing, communication, and so forth. His seller name was/is "12-ROCKETMAN".
I followed up after the order with how he was doing and he explained that he has moved his operation to Kazakhstan and is stressed out due to being blocked from selling on eBay. This morning, I received a message explaining that, as he does not have a storefront website, requests for tubes should be sent to his personal e-mail. I wanted to provide his message in case anyone here wants to order Russian tubes but is no longer sure how to do so:

Please check with your lawyer before ordering. You may be liable for violation of sanctions by your country.
Also the current situation is ripe for scamming. No protection for buyers.

Also be aware that buying outside eBay provides no buyer protection for non-delivery. Does Paypal still work to Russian countries or is that blocked too?
Cheers

I'm sure that's blocked now.

I've ordered from him quite a few times, good bay seller. Not sure i'd order outside the usual channels or in this current environment but he seems like a good dude
Sanctions are all we have as horrified onlookers, to try and influence the people who will facilitate an outcome.
Is it really the case that western inventories ran out in a month?

Seller or buyer could get themselves into deep doggie doo. In a place where they shoot first and ask questions later.Evading state sanctions is not so good. Maybe also illegal.

Sanctions definitely work at banking/financial level, no doubt about that.Evading state sanctions is not so good. Maybe also illegal.
Not so sure, at all, they work or even apply to individuals, or to what degree, besides the financial/banking bit which may and guess certainly does
FWIW to his very day (maybe not after tomorrow) EU is buying Russian Gas and oil paying millions of Dollar/Euro daily.
US had to specifically block similar purchases, so they were not "automatic" even after sanctions, which again, are mainly financial.
In a nutshell. I´d love to read the actual text (and not just the title) of sanctions, to avoid guessing and overthinking.
EDIT:
I think you are assuming too much.Seller or buyer could get themselves into deep doggie doo. In a place where they shoot first and ask questions later.
Any documented case of somebody being shot for selling tubes?
I think we are in a cold headed Tech based Forum (in spite of cable, UFO and capacitor threads) and verified facts should rule.
Propaganda is .... propaganda.
Good to (try to) influence others, but quite indigest if swallowed whole, at face value.

When this crap started, I placed an order for a bunch of tubes from tubes-store... The payment went through, the package was packed, picked up by DHL, and shipped. Russian customs wouldn't let it leave and I was refunded.
I don't recall seeing them but did not look, either.Does anybody know where to buy russian PIO capacitors? Does Rocketman have them in stock also?
Basically, I think that in the current situation it is good to support vendors in Ukraine. Anyway, can we be sure that we get what we've ordered? It might as well turn out that the goods vanish somewhere in the shipping process, then we ask for refund via Ebay or Paypal, and the seller hasn't the tubes anymore, but also no money for them. It's really difficult to decide.
Best regards!
