Take a look at this Eminence thread adapter - i just managed to ruin my NOS Selenium wave guides with these pieces of garbage. Look at the threads compared to another 1-3/8 18 TPI adapter i had laying around. The thread pitch is completely different !!! WTF. How is that even possible? I thought this was a good adapter reading reviews on PEs website, so I ordered a pair. After cautiously threading them a few turns and realizing things weren't right, I went to back it out, but it wouldn't budge. Lots of lube, cussing and praying later, I was able to remove it, but the damage is done. Just wanted to warn people here about it. Now I have to find a 1-3/8 18 tap in hopes of repairing my horn thanks to this horrible POS.

Yeah, don't want anyone going through this mess. I double checked this adapter against a good dozen or so horn flares and they are all not compatible with this adapter. I don't know how Eminence could have "screwed" up the thread pitch this bad. The guy running the cnc machine must have run the wrong program, cutting a different thread pitch. I can't possibly be alone with this problem given the popularity of this part. I'm not aware of any other aluminum horn adapter being sold.
It is quite possible to have such issues go entirely unnoticed even when quality checks are present. I have an entire packet of M3 nuts and bolts that are don't fit among themselves (or any others) and have been using them as posts and test points on circuit boards.
if this were a Chinese part, I'd almost say its excusable or even expected, but its American made and there should a higher level of quality control expected, being they make a big deal of advertising it to begin with.
I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to make a mistake once in a while, but they should have caught this. I paid 30 bucks for a pair of these thinking they were the best adapters on the market, but I now have a ruined horn flare on top of it all, which is what ticks me off the most. It doesn't look like you can buy a tap for a 1-3/8×18 thread.

Yes, they should have caught the mistake. These adapters have been on the market for many years, probably a recent run was made wrong.if this were a Chinese part, I'd almost say its excusable or even expected, but its American made and there should a higher level of quality control expected, being they make a big deal of advertising it to begin with.

Both Eminence and Parts Express are customer responsive, hope you inform them of the problem so they can make it right for you, and avoid any more bad units going out.

Stupid question ... you sure the waveguides are 1-3/8"x18?

Yes, I already called them. They offered to send me new ones but they're all from the new batch they just got a while back. The thing with PE is they're hit and miss with their employees. I've had previously returned stuff shipped to me as new stuff that was installed/used/damaged before or missing parts. Thats a big problem and if something that simple gets through, I wonder if anyone is actually checking anything. This last shipment I had stuff thrown into a big box without much of any packing material to protect it. I had several some hardware fall out of the gaps and slots of the external packing cardboard as I tippped it to pick it up from outside. They're just slacking everywhere these days it seems.Yes, they should have caught the mistake. These adapters have been on the market for many years, probably a recent run was made wrong.

Yeah, 100 percent sure as my plastic adapters fit just perfectly along with all my other waveguide the same. Thanks for that link!https://www.homedepot.com/p/Drill-A...lug-Hand-Tap-1-Piece-DWTST1-3-8-18P/305699962

The Selenium ADM25-25 is a quality 1 3/8" adapter ( it even included 3x 1/4"-20 bolts + washers ).
They're getting hard to find now ( maybe they're discontinued ?? ).
Crites Speakers used to list them for sale ( fwiw ). Selenium Stuff at Crites Speakers ( seems to be an orphaned page )
