Anyone ever play with making your own tube sockets? I could foresee a time when some of the less common compactron sockets could become hard to find.
I make one for Novar tubes since they are almost unobtainable. Would only take about 10 minutes to make one for Compactron...

I make Compactron sockets (for the 6FJ7) from small discs of teflon.
Just like the current/cheap teflon Noval sockets: 2 discs with corresponding 12 holes. 1 disc with smaller holes; 1 disc with larger holes.
And from those commercial Noval sockets i use those pins....fit perfectly.
From a commercial Octal socket i use the clamp.
Yes this will take time; but they outperform standard Compactron sockets hands down as most commercial Compactrons are wobbly...
