Under Investigation New posts on home page not showing

On the home page, when new replies occur the page is not getting updated. Previously the new reply would appear at the top and shift the list down, but this does not seem to be happening now without manual refresh.

Related to this, when I leave the page for a few minutes and replies have happened in the background, clicking the 'load more' button results in a duplication of threads at the join between where the first list was and where the new list is appended:

Thanks for the report.

The instant live refresh was turned off because it was a poor experience, especially on smaller screens.

The load more bug is interesting, and I'm sure could be fixed using a timestamp. I'm not sure if this is native XF code or comes from our developers but I'll have it looked into.

Did you mean when clicking on the "New Posts" in upper left menu bar?
What I have discovered is that it represents me with a link that looks like:

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/whats-new/posts/nnnnn/

where 'nnnnn' is a counting number that changes constantly with every new post, I used to reload (F5) and wondered why it didn't update with newest posts until I discovered about the changing number count, so had to click on "New Posts" in order to update the page.

No, just on the main home page thread list.

If I hit F5 then I get the latest thread posts, but previously the list would bump down as new posts were made. Jason mentioned that feature was turned off.

However the issue I still get is when the home page has sat for a few minutes, if I go to the bottom of the post list and hit 'load more', then I get duplicated posts where the original and new list join.

ok I see, I guess the "home page" is when clicking on the diyAudio logo in upper left, and takes one to:

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/

But that page shows the same newest posts list as the "New Posts" button on the top menu bar, in that case we have to ask the diyAudio staff why do we have same list in two different places?

The only difference is that the link above has the sidebar, which one can switch off from the 3-bar menu bar button, and a few different buttons on upper right side just above the list, in that case it would be better to combine all buttons and only keep the home page then?

Just FYI: instead of wrapping a URL in CODE tags so it shows clearly (but can't be clicked), you can let it render fancy and then corrupt the unfurl="true" tag so it won't fancy-render. It looks like you may have to post and then edit, and that the BB code icon is in bare-code mode.

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/ --clickable but obfuscated

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/
--bare and clickable

[URL unfurl="true"]https://www.diyaudio.com/community/[/URL] [URL unfurl="NO"]https://www.diyaudio.com/community/[/URL]

There is also a PLAIN tag which seems to shut-off most fancy-frillies.
