Hi all, I am interested in the Community Pro S-3294 + S-215S subs, I intend to do outdoor parties of up to 200 people with it, Dj and live bands sometimes. I have not listened to the system but the person selling it said "This system is as loud as an equivalent JBL PRX/SRX system with a more pleasant sound quality"
Looking at the specs , it looks under powered with a max SPL of 123 dB continuous for the S3294 and 120dB for the S-215S. Can this system really be comparable to an equivalent JBL SRX?

I can't find "comparable" or "equivalent" JBL SRX.Looking at the specs , it looks under powered with a max SPL of 123 dB continuous for the S3294 and 120dB for the S-215S. Can this system really be comparable to an equivalent JBL SRX?
As well as the speaker configurations being different, the JBL SRX are rated at surviving around 4 times the continuous rating of the Community speakers, so you may conclude they are "under powered", or that the JBL ratings might be severely reduced by thermal compression when absorbing 800, 1200, or 1600 watts "continuous" with 3200, 4800, or 6400 watt peaks.
The JBL specs only list the maximum "peak" levels, which may only be valid over a portion of their range..
The Community V2-3294 has a continuous rating of 122dB at 40volts (200"watts"), peak 128dB at 80volts (800 "watts").
The Community V2-215S has a continuous rating of 123dB at 40volts (400"watts"), peak 129dB at 80volts (1600 "watts").

Seems like reasonable expectations for them.
The Community spec sheets are more conservative than most ;^).
