Few asked me about my dipole subs, and I used to have web page from the past, where I did comparison between subwoofer arranged as bipolar vs dipolar. It took me a while to find the link in wayback engine, since geocities took it down.
Here is the old web page link, directly it does not work, but enter it into wayback page:

New page in the blog:

I hope some will work. This is best sounding sub, I am using it for more than a decade. Enjoy!

I would like to try this. I have 4 visaton bgs40. Do you think that they could work well is this configuration?
They have:
98 dB (1 W/1 m)
Qts 0.42
fs 40 Hz
xmax +/−8 mm
Linkwitz also wrote about this sub configuration. He proposed a time delay for optimal cardioid radiation. Yours seems to work well enough. Perhaps your dimensions are so small that it is not nessesary.

Just try it. Make wire for each woofer separately, try dipolar vs bipolar, see what works for you. There is distinct difference in sound because one does not pressurizes the room.
I haven't even thought about that. Just design it as an option. I could just switch it to bipolar, if i am in the mood for some chest pounding edm bass.
But that would change the construction significantly. For bipolar, i would have to make it completly seeled and make it as rigid as possible. Am i right?

But for me its not worth the extra effort. I like your simple construction, which also offers the linkwitz-style decoupling of the woofers.Right.
The exact dimensions dont really seem to matter. Bigger box would lead to lower f3 frequency, but yours seem low enough.
