Which would be stiffer, well braced inside with 3/4” panels or curved sides with 1” thick panels?

Braced panels. If you can curve them to, so much the better.
Material you use will also play a role. 15mm quality ply will outdo ¾” MDF.
I would have a front-to-back (including bracing the driver(s)), and side-toside (taking care to not leave a reflective surface right behind the driver.

It is, but those angled braces run counter to my bracing strategies so i just try to leave holes in the offending braces.
