IcePower 300AS1/300A1 build

Hello forum. I am going to attempt a 3 channel Icepower build. I bought a 300AS1 and two 300A1 modules. They will be mounted in a Ghent 3 channel xlr chassis.
The intended use for the amplifier is to power my 3 front speakers in my hometheater. Speakers are Jamo D500 LCR THX.
I just received the icepower modules today. I still cant believe how tiny they are for 150watt/8 ohm amplifiers.😲 Components are of excellent quality….Panasonic FC and Nichicon caps.
I will post some pictures as I go along. If any of you have some great input and advice, please feel free to post here.

I just received the Ghent chassis. Seems like fine quality.

I may need some help with (power) wiring. The 300AS1 has vcc/vss 12v output. This 12v output HAS to be connected to the 12v vcc/vss inputs on the 300A1…correct?

I would like the amp to be ‘woken’ by signal input….how is this wired?

Below are block diagrams. Any help or wiring diagrams appreciated. Thanks.

Proceeding nicely! I got the amp all put together. With some nervousness, I powered up the amp…nothing fried! Yey!

I tested the amp yesterday evening…all I can say is ‘WOW’.! Clean, clean, CLEAN sound. Amazing dynamics! No thumps.

Who knew…who knew…that such small devices could perform so well! I didnt!

Hi, I'm starting on this same build but having difficulty with how to wire it appropriately. How would I wire it for both of the 300A1? Does one get the 12v aux and the other get the DC 54.5V? I'm kind of a noob at this so any help would be appreciated

Hello, I just joined this site, I just ordered a 300AS1 with wiring harness and fuse block/switch. If it works well I might order another for dual mono block amps. I plan to use them with my Kemper profiler for guitar. I understand Kemper uses one in the powered heads, and it sounded pretty good! So I'll either mount them in a chassis or into the speaker cabs. I'm looking forward to hearing the results, should be loud enough for gigs 🙂 Anyone have any experience using these for guitar applications?
Thanks
Ed

When using multiple hanger modules, just consider that the SMPS on the main amplifier board will be tasked with powering all of them, and you could end up with a system that can support full output on one or a combination of modules, but maybe not all of them simultaneously. The combined system power is limited to what the SMPS can supply, which is 300W continuous or 400W for 17 seconds. So just be aware you aren't getting 3 * 300W = 900W continuous power from that module, but up to 300W RMS on one channel only, or a lesser amount when all channels are loaded equally. For an active speaker system or a stereo amplifier this shouldn't be an issue at all, but if you were driving the two coils of a DVC subwoofer with separate amp channel outputs you could run into the limits of the SMPS.

I have some interest in a pair of 300AS1 monoblocks and maybe a 200AS2 stereo amp here in the near future, all in Ghent cases. They aren't state-of-the-art anymore in class-D world but they are certainly as good as most of the high end amplifiers of yesteryear and many modern ones, and are sonically their equal or better.

@anderslober Can you please share the wiring pics of your build? I m confused if i shd use the power cables for 300a1 when we are using 12v DC hanger bus cables as well

If you have any wiring diagram for 300as1 +2 300a1.. pls share.

The 300as1 module has only one power outlet P6, which can be connected to any one module 300A1.

But if we r using DC hanger bus (blue wires), do we still need to use the power supply cables for 300a1 modules?

As per 300a1 data sheet , there are 2 power input pins in the module, but no outputs, so i am wondering if the power cable from P6(amp1) to P1(amp 2) is going to make any difference. Please see enclosed pic of my build and advice on the power cable connections in green circle
