Linn Brilliant Slimline images

I'm attempting to repair a Linn 'Slimline' power supply from about 2004, 'MCAS027'.

The stumbling block is identifying the values of some failed resistors. If anybody has a reasonable photo of the core part of the board that would be very helpful. I'm trying to produce a schematic as part of this process, it may not be complete as the rectifiers for the output are under the transformer which I'm not going to remove, but perhaps a step forward.

Both FETs were destroyed along with the driver chip. Some of the resistors have damaged tops and are open circuit. The board itself seems fine.

FWIW I originated a thread on Pink Fish Media a long time ago about the earlier Brilliant which seems to get regularly cited. If I could still edit it I would fix teh photo links.

I too have a broken linn slimline and would be happy to help! I can supply some photos if needed, my resistors are all fairly legible. I think in my case some of the caps are toast and there seems to be a trace that’s bad near a resistor on the bottom of the board. I have no idea of the condition of the FET’s, how did you test them?

I figured out the component values, replaced everything, and it didn't work. Then I noticed that Linn Intersekt components were very cheap on eBay, I got a job lot of three for £49 delivered. These all have SPS but of a slightly different spec, the only difference appears to be the transformer. So I swapped transformers from my broken Kairn supply to one liberated from an Intersect and everything came good. And under the transformer live rectifiers, and on the broken one these had all exploded...

I removed the FETS and they measured short circuit.

That’s very useful thanks! I believe I will take the same tack re:swapping transformers. I have nothing to lose at this point but a worthless kairn. I don’t suppose you’d want to part with any of the other two intersekt ps’es?

Hello
I'm also trying to repair an mcas027 power supply. I'm guessing even though mine doesn't look like the one in the photo and the chips are different manufacturer but same models, the values of other parts are the same.

My question is if anyone has info on the diodes (I think they are) under the transformer, probably the live rectifiers epicyclism mentioned.
