I have a U-Test-M tube tester Model #2400B that went on the fritz yesterday. It has an Aerovox P150F591 1.5uF 650VAC 600V 6531 capacitor. It is polarized. Would This Capacitor be a suitable replacement. Attached is a picture of my faulty unit. Thanks

That cap might do,it depends what the faulty cap was doing. Was it a decoupling cap or part of the power supply? It's doubtfull your tube tester HT/B+ goes anywhere as high as 600v, you might get away with a lower voltage rating, EG a 1u 250v electrolytic might do, depends on where it is in the circuit etc.

Andy.
Look for a microwave oven capacitor, they are that build.
If you look at the schematic, usually glued to the inside of the case, what does the faulty capacitor do and where is it in the schematic.
Can you attach a photo of the schematic?

The .95 uF - 1.1 uF 2100V are readily available on Amazon -20% tolerance would be 1.2 uF. Back then the tolerance might have been more?
Edit: Air conditioner capacitors of 5uF and 370V are common at the hardware store.

This will do it... Smaller and cheaper, too.

Thanks for that. The one I have has a red dot where the red wire was connected. These others do not have positive or negative orientation. It doesn't matter which way it is connected?
I installed This 1.1uF Microwave Capacitor in because I could get it quickly with free shipping and it's relatively the same size. It functions. I tested 2 known good tubes and they tested good. I tested 3 questionable tubes and they failed. Do you think I should leave it? I'm undecided because it fits real nice. On one hand it's not the exact specs, on the other, does it have to be? I could get the other one next time I order parts if I need to. Thanks
Off topic: is it uF or uf? I've seen both.

I'd say it's close enough. You could always connect a 0.47uF film cap across it.
And it's Farad is represented by a capital F. µ for micro - µF but a normal u is easier.

Great. I have an extra I'm not using. Is the micro abbreviation hidden in plain sight on the keyboard?I'd say it's close enough. You could always connect a 0.47uF film cap across it.

No. But if you use Linux, and you enable the compose key, you can hit
to get µ.
