looking to procure some drivers for a power amp output stage. I see a lot of the classics are no longer made. Looking for a driver:
Vce = 200-250v
hfe = 100-300 @500ma
Pd = 25w-150w
cob = prefer lower values ....
Looking at the 2sa1668, its gain compared tp the njw0302 is similar .... wondering if I should just use njw0302 as drivers since I have many of them

How much wattage? 1000 w/ch higher has gone class D, Class AB is obsolete for that market.
300-650 W/ch I have repaired some amps that use TO3 MJ15022/23 as drivers and TO-220 MJE15032/33 as predrivers. Still in production.
150-325 w/ch I have a unit that uses MJE15032/33 as drivers for an output triple.
80 to 150 W I have a unit uses TO-126 transistors as drivers for 2 outputs. MJ-243/253 is what they were, obsolete, but you can still buy MJE340/350.
For lower rail voltages like 35-50 v I use MJE15028/29 as drivers for a single pair OT which have lower base capacitance than MJE15032/33 .
