Yes but with the option of using it's own volume control, why the put it through a PS audio preamp, when the Mytek is 20k input impedance with 29db gain, would'nt you go direct!!!

The separate DAC has been on the market (as @billshurv suggests) a few years. The guts of the DAC started out as part of the Mola Makua preamp and that goes back to (at least) early 2016 - see here : Mola Mola Makua Pre-DAC | What's Best Audio and Video Forum.
