I was just over on the JBL Pro site looking for the T/S parameters and notice some of the white papers they have up on one of their cinema speakers the SR9350. These are new to me. Has anyone else seen them??
I find them to be very intriguing and maybe some potential for DIY based on them. Have a look!

I have a pair of MX515s that use the same woofer and one of the tweeters and fine them to have a nice hi fi sound. Ad-hoc REW measurements are good too but the tweeter is about 2db louder than I'd like for home but probably good for wedding gigs and small crowds.
The white paper claims these're capable of rivalling screen speakers like 4732, in terms of dynamics and sonic performance. If this is indeed true, then these speakers, being passive and all, could become many a poor man's screen speakers. Unfortunately, it's difficult to assess whether so, as the newer JBL datasheets no longer show detailed curves like they used to do in the past.
I doubt it.
I had double 15 crossing to 2384 with 2435hpl driver crossed 24db LR at 750-1khz (depending on how loud i wanted it).
If you have the space for a setup like that, i highly recommend it (with generous eq), but use a reasonably priced 2431 compression driver (i currently use).
4732 = double 15's, 2' x 3.5' midrange horn loaded with 4 x 6.5", and 2384 horn up top.

Yes, even I feel so, it's a dog vs. dinosaur case, whose outcome shouldn't be that difficult.
