cheap Chokes in Europe

Hi,

Is someone knowing where I can find cheap chokes in Europe. I need for the power supply of a tube circuit a 2x10uH choke to smooth the B+ power supply rails made with a simple solid-
state bridge rectifier (no tube rectifier). I find the hammond, Lundhal to be too much expensive those days and knew Mapplin used to sell cheap but good enough ones.

Anyone aware of a good cheap shop in EC?

Many thanks

I assume you mean 10 mH.
Have a look into 'http://www.die-wuestens.de/dindex.htm'. This shop is based in Germany. I bought several inductors and transformers from him and quality was very good.

The OP probably means 10H since it's a tube amp B+ supply.

How much current does it need to handle?

Post a schematic of it.

Triad C-14X is 6H 200mA and I find 10H is usually not needed unless you cheap out on capacitance.

I dunno where you are in Europe, but it's 12 quid in the UK... Triad C-14X

Hi,

A friend that helps me to make my I/V tube stage is saying the Triad choke has maybe too much resistance - DCR- and that can suck all the dynamic

good choke are expensive and there in France, the vintage part seller sell their old second hand choke that has good DCR the same price or more than the biggest Hammond !

Reworking on the Digikey link above I finaly found something in between for the price : 28 euros, Hammond 159P : 10H with 200mA/150 ohms. If someone is looking for the same need as mine one day reading this thread, this ref may helps.

Of course not shielded like the bigger and more expensive Hammond black brother (around 75 euros) . Instead to use one of each rail after the 4 diodes SS rectifier, I will just beginn with the positive rail of the plate only. Pehaps followed by capacitance multiplier, but don't like too much too mix SS with tube... anyway I will do to decrease the price... chokes are expensive.

Anyone aware about gerbers on a Diya thread about a Gyrator / CSS à la Moglia, please ?

"Triad choke has maybe too much resistance - DCR- and that can suck all the dynamic"

This schematic contains C-R-C after the choke/s/, where R=1k5.
The DCR of the choke is almost negligible next to this resistance.

The "dynamic" is depends of changing current and impedance of PSU.
This schematic working almost constant current, so well filtered DC voltage is necessary, but "dynamism" of PSU is the secondary aspect.

PDF:
"Circuit needing about 210V +B with 12mA (or less) current-draw"
Any 50mA capable choke is feasible.

p.s.

TME has Hammond 159P (10H, 125mA, 155R) for 25EUR net price.

Thanks Krivium.
Keep the heavy Hammond for your next Dac qnd a non active hifi.
, it is too much heavy for La Poste to risk a strike and the grand mas will have not their chocolate and sweets boxes for Christmass if so...😀
, I will report about this I/V stage forthe tda154a..

Always loved that site with its pdf catalog but believed they only had expensive Lundhals and Tangos....
I like also Banzai while they have slow shipment for France despite being in Berlin... 3 weeks or more often ?! But they nicely ship after the main postal if few parts are missing on shelves
