Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone here has experience with Novacore brand tweeters, they seem to be "replicating" GRS/ BG planars.
Was searching for some BG Neo8's or similar for a line array and came across these Novacore High power aluminum Planar transducer Amt Ribbon tweeter for DIY monitor HiFi audio home theater 6Ohm AMT 920 NEO 8|set design software free|set therapytweeter box - AliExpress
Looking at the response graphs (only) they look fairly comparable to the BG neo 8's https://www.parts-express.com/pedocs/specs/264-713-bohlender-graebener-neo8-pdr-specifications-44311.pdf
I am tempted to buy a few samples but just curious if anyone has seen or used their products before? Searched for Novacore on the forums but found nothing.
Thanks guys.

It looks like a BG, but says it is an AMT.

I came to the general conclusion that many planars are just Chinese generic drivers rebadged and sold under other names. The BG and Swan stuff has been ripped off so many times. The latest GRS version of BG are actually very good. Swan is already Chinese and has had a few QC issues along the way. Their RT2C is a nice driver. The similar and popular YAG20 is however not so good. The Dayton Audio version is ok and the newer horn loaded version PHT1-6 is also pretty good.
In France many amateurs use the Chinese clone. I use 8 Neo8 per speaker with a horn. 101 dB / 1w - 250 to 18,000 Hz

Very interesting! The acoustic lenses or phase plug on the neo-8's is interesting. Do you have any measurements with and without that element?
Very impressive, thanks for sharing!
Sheldon
The lenses have a different effect depending on the opening angle of the horn. The wings of the horn are articulated.

In the photo I have measurements for an aperture of 62, 75, 85, and 96 centimeters without lenses.

On the other photo, the measurement with an opening of 64 centimeters at 0 and 30 degrees with or without lenses. Green 30 ° without lens. Blue 30 ° with lens.

I use google for translation if you don't understand my text tell me.
