AKAI AP-Q70 speed / w&f issues

Hi Guys,

I was lucky to score an really nice Akai turntable. It was one of the top of the line model of that year. The was only one model up - the Q80.

The turntable has sensor buttons and a digital display in front. The display was dead and a leaked Rifa capacitor was the cause. Usually saw these guys cracking, not oozing green goo. But it was nothing corrosive replaced it with something more up to date, cleaned it up and I am in business.

But unfortunately the TT is running way too fast. There is only a service manual available for the Q80. The procedure to calibrate the quartz lock mechanism and adjust speed are in there.

But it mentions test points TP1, TP2 and TP3 (page 29). The image quality if so bad, that I have no clue where to put my probes of my oscilloscope. I was able to bring the speed down and to be sort of ok for 33rpm. But just twisting/turning the pots blindly brought limited results with bad w&f.

Anyone more experienced than me able to provide some advice?
