Working on one of these units.

I found a couple bad diodes and a bad transistor .

I think it’s marked MTP12P05

It goes in the power supply section of the unit .

Anyone know of a good replacement?

Do you have anything like an IRF6215? An IRF9540N would likely also work.

Try both (or any P-channel FET that you have) to see which runs cooler.

I guess I don’t have any 6215’s and only have 9540’s non n version .

I have some IRF6218’s. Could I try one of them ?

Ok I used the IRF6218 .

The unit turns on and works like it should .

Back to this unit something still isn’t right with it . I have terrible engine noise .

I also noticed that there are cold solder joints on the display .

What’s the best way to fix these joints just heat them with a soldering iron or suck all the old solder off clean the board and put new solder down

I don't know what you have but I typically recommend that you add new solder, desolder and then resolder.
