Tube cage protection / Shield

anybody can tell me if this protection cage works as shield ( faraday cage ) like a standard tube shield?

Don't Faraday cages have to encircle the object and be well earthed to work effectively? I'd suggest this is primarily decorative and/or to help with H&S compliance.

If the shield is slide to the tube (like the metal shields) it will also increase the grid capacitance a little.

But it's necessary, no? for avoid interferences, and noise. At least on a phono preamp. If approach my hand on V1 I hear noise and a of hum. With the shield this dosen't happen.

Yes. For high gain amps or RF most need shielding.
