I have two ACAs. I’ve run them mono with balanced cables and see the discussion on what’s happening: i.e., more power less distortion. I have them in a system that only has RCA hook-ups. What happens running them mono/bridged with a single ended input?
you have some distinctive Sugar now, which dominant 2nd harmonic is giving
when bridging, either with SE ("self bridge trick") or with Bal input, even harmonics are suppressed, leaving odd ones dominant, so Sugar is gone, details and analytic nature being dominant
each half of amp seeing half of load (speaker), so best to not go bellow mild 8R
