Dual 10" coupling

A am about to make a compact project of PD 10". As I understad the centers of cones should be as close as possibe, I need to maximally awoyd phase issues, as I want them to be crossed at 4k

In the middle a CD, something like a line array but with 90x50 coverage

Something like this

I'm confused.. ..do you want a 2-way or a 3-way speaker? 😕

If the frequency response gots up to 5k that does not mean it's actually usable. You can't cross these 10" over at more than 2k, between 2,5 and 3,5k is a resonance decay ridge and distortion. If you want to use their high spl, you'll have to cross them over at ~200-250Hz - which is too high for a standard subwoofer. If you don't, then there's no reason for a driver with a 3" VC. Which DSP will you use?

How did your last project turn out?

Im thinking of crossing the bottom one 140-500 with passive high qual Low pass filter so 17,7cm cone to cone and the upper one just see how it does the high freq stuff, if I need to cross lower , I Have BMS 1" 4550 :800-up to 20kHz and large faital tactrix horns..

like so. the black ones angled 10" PD and the green one the 60x50 horn.

I am for now using a Powersoft T304, and planning to buy the FIR designer.

Are you tilting the 10" inward at 45 degrees and having them open front and back at one edge? Difficult to picture.

Yes. The angle builds a kind of WG and the drivers come closer together, makes the top more compact and gives a bit more defined directivity. The horn in front of it makes the dispersion a bit uneven and not flat. The response can be flattened by the dsp but the interferences/phase errors because of the reflection can not. Though, still fine for most PA uses.

No, the cab will be sealed or br. The picture is probably of a port, not an open baffle. OB does not make sense for a PA, the dispersion should be tightly controlled, if possible. Many instrument amps are open on the back though, the high Qts drivers sound better and you can keep the cabinet much smaller.

That's not possible. You're facing ~137dB from the PD's, you need a 1,4" driver with a 3" VC to match that.

I see that its long term continus range @700 Watts is 128,45db, the other one will only boost the 140-500Hz range,
BMS outputs 132db @80 Watts. I usually turn down the CDs a little

Two of these is going on a 4x 15" subs with decent xmax 12mm. BMS or Oberton

You want to cross one of them over lower? That will throw off the directivity and f-res a lot. The V-shape is already a dare and you want it to intentionally make it worse? 😕

You will not have any headroom on the BMS. One feedback or something in the chain clipping (doesn't even have to be the amp) and they are gone. But sure, go for it, you are the one who pays for diaphragms.

Some thoughts:

- Using the 10"s off-axis means you're going to lose some output above 1kHz.
- A 1" compression driver running from 800Hz upwards is asking a lot in a PA situation. I agree with those that suggest a 1.4"/3" driver.
- The Powersoft T304 is a great amp, and should work well here.
- RePhase can do the job of creating FIR files, and it's free. Export as .csv with a 48kHz sample rate to import into Armonia+

Maybe just start with one 10" and 1,4 CD and then add another one on the side is not enough spl.

I really need the space, everything compact to be able to fit in a car.
As Inderstand a small horn in font of cone could help
