1st time posting. Been out of the game for several years. I figure y'all are more up to date on stuff than I am so, hoping you can point me in a good direction here.
I have a Pass Aleph 3. I also have the schematic for it. It's been quite some time but I've had this thing apart several times to mess with wringing the most the most out of it. So, I know my way around this amp pretty well. Here's my dilemma. . . . .
It's definitely time to replace the PSU caps. I'd like to source new caps from Digikey or Mouser if possible. The stock caps are the Panasonic TSU 22000uf 25v @ 85°. It appears these caps are no longer made. What would be a good sounding replacement for these? I'd like to use a cap that has at least an equivalent ESR and also a little better voltage & temp rating. The caps can be SLIGHTLY larger - I can work around that.

I've seen photos of current Firstwatt/Passlabs amps with Cornell Dubilier 380LX caps so you might start looking there.
Improved capacitor technology will help a lot. You’ll be able to fit 35V devices of equal or greater capacitance in the same locations. Cornell Dublilier 380LX and SLPX series are good for power supply duty.
Yes, the Panasonic PSU caps are old and drying out. The top of a few of the cans are bulging - pretty sure they're NOT just happy to see me. I'm getting a bit of a hum on start up and then it slowly disappears.
Probly 10 to 12 yrs ago I changed out all the other 'lytics with Nichicon audio grade stuff. Don't remember the designation - I think they were KZs.

When those come in for repair or a check out we use 105C caps these days.
Getting decent caps these days can be a problem, especially in quantity.

Wayne, 105C is one of the criteria I'm looking for. That and something greater than 25v. Probly more like 30v to 35v. Can I ask what caps you use in your work?
