Can anyone point me to a good source of speaker driver design? I get the basic principles but do not understand what parts of the speaker affect the frequency response. For example what one designer's choices were made to make their 6-inch driver achieve a low frequency of 40hz while another 6 inches may go down to 50hz?
Loudspeakers by E J Jordan, 1963.
I scanned a photocopy of that book and i believe jordan has it on their site.
Dickason is a good primer if somewhat limited. There is a big book by ? on high end speaker designs. And a text book quality book on FLH if you want to go that way.
But much of the best stuff is now on-line.
