SB Audience Bianco 25CD - $20 compression driver.

I have not seen any reviews of the SB Audience Bianco 25CD anywhere on the web. Other than it is a newer driver, any reason for this? I am new at looking for CD tweeters so I could easily miss something glaring. Some points on the driver:

SB Audience :: BIANCO-25CD-P

AES power Handing 20W with a 2.5khz crossover. This is lower power handling and a higher crossover point than most compression drivers. This is due to the 25mm voice coil.
However, the frequency response is quite flat down to 1000hz.

With a 109dB sensitivity, this looks like it could work well in a home setting with a much lower crossover than recommended.

SB does not publish distortion graphs. This makes knowing how this would perform at a lower crossover frequency unknowable.

I have thought of buying a pair to play with but I have nothing to compare them to.

Thoughts? Should I get my feet wet or save my money for something better?

The impedance is problematic - it could cost you more for correction relative to your high-pass than the driver itself.

If you can spend more (though not terribly expensive), this is what I would recommend:

Peerless by Tymphany DFM-2535R00-08 1" Compression Horn Driver 2/4-Bolt 8 Ohm

Eminence SST1 1" Constant Directivity Horn 90x40 2-Bolt

the combo can be seen measured here (without any baffle):

Note: it says in the article that the horn is the APT150S, but it's not - rather it's the horn I've linked to above (..and be forewarned that I don't think they are making anymore of them so if you are interested - then purchase the horns while you can; the compression driver you can pick-up later if needed).

You could try Mabat's ST260 waveguide with Peerless Scott suggested. It measures quite nicely:

I don't know what's the price for printing in US but it costed me 50€ for a pair locally.

And crossover isn't too complicated but not too simple either.

I wish these links would bring me to the intended posts (for me...)! As linking is flaky in diyaudio I always add the post number too, like: #5

Tried one out today, I don't have measuring equipment set up at the moment but I thought it's upper range sounded better than my typhany cd. The sb needed to be crossed over much higher though, at least 2k. I have a faital hf10ak that sounds clearer than both of those but it's much more expensive.

Could make a nice bang for buck design with this new 10" mid-bass from Dayton:

Linking used to be "off" when your personal setup for "shown number of posts per page" deviated from the standard (which used to be 10 or 20 posts).
Haven´t tried any links since the new design.
