Good sounding and fitting Truly Wireless Earbuds.

Hi team,

having recently purchased a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro true wireless earbuds, for their convenience, and ease of use. While they sound acceptable, I CAN NOT get them to stay in my ears, it is HIGHLY frustrating. This is not even anything strenuous, like running, or skipping etc.

My question is, what are people's experiences with fitment and DEFINITELY sound from True Wireless Earbuds?

In the perfect World there MUST be a set of good sounding earbuds that stay in place during running?

I appreciate anyone's input.

Only in ear bugs that fit my ears are the ones with a silicon piece. Have to say none are really good in my view.

I used to have a pair that had a clip over the ear and the silicon piece for in the ear. Very good for the gym and snowboarding with a helmet on. For mountain biking I didn’t bother as as chance of coming across a car on some road crossings made it a safety issue.

I make replacement seals (aka sleeves or gels) from foam earplugs. Squish them flat into a disc, then punch a hole; I use a leather hole punch, but a punch could be improvised from a section of telescopic radio antenna. Since the whole earplug will be too long, squish it flat sideways and snip off the narrower end.
If you're rich, it's possible to get earbuds custom made for your ears. Or order an earmold kit from Lloyd Hearing, then adapt your earbuds.

I have many wireless earbuds (12 sets and counting). The best earbud tips are the memory foam ones. The big brand there is “Comply” but they charge $20 - an insane price for a little round piece of foam. Get the equivalent ones from AliExpress. Work just as well for $6. The memory foam seals out noise and conforms to your ear and stays put. The silicone ones slip out if active. I run in mine and have had them come off from just the running motion if fit is not good.

The earphone / earbud body fit itself is really dependent on your ear shape. Some brands work better than others. The rage is to have the little hanging tubes sticking out of your ear that Apple has made famous. I personally think it looks lame and an Apple bud with no tip has never fit my ear. Simply falls out when I take my hand off.

You have to try several brands until you find one that fits. Also, the latest rage is capacitive touch sensor on the bud body. What a stupid idea that is. Every time you reach to adjust the buds, your finger activates the button and it either stops the music, skips the track, or worse, dials the last number you called. Look for ones with mechanical buttons. Not “touch” activated.

Having said that - it’s hard to find one with mechanical buttons nowadays. The best one I have is tiny and fits well inside my ear’s pinna and has a mechanical button. Unfortunately, no longer made.

It looks like this if you can find an equivalent. They sound great and the fit well.

A quick search for “button control” earbuds produced this one - I might have to try them as one of the buds on my favorite pair finally died after 3 years of use.

The shape of peoples ears varies greatly and therefore it is pretty pointless to ask for recommendations for good fitting buds.

I know that custom moulded ear plugs are available for use by, for example, motorcyclists, but is a similar service available for use with audio ear buds? Maybe a pair of custom ear plugs could be adapted with a hole through them for use with ear buds of choice.
