Ceramic 470 pF +/- 10 %, 250 V AC Y2 capacitor (special safety capacitor). Farnell and Mouser are bound to have it. Never replace it with a capacitor that's not a Y capacitor, to prevent risk of electrocution.

No, I don't. Any Y capacitor with a value around 470 pF and 250 V or more AC working voltage should do, though.
That was discontinued, so I went for this instead. Hope it's okay. Thanks for your help.

Here is a KEMET cap that is probably equivalent. It is rated higher voltage(400) but more is not bad. Also may prevent whatever caused that one to go bad too! Also X1, Y2 rated like that one. And 10% TOL like yours. $0.56 for one! Digi-Key PN: 399-17513-ND
I absolutely agree but charging 12 quid to post a 40p component is ridicules. I did make sure it was branded and from a UK seller.
There are more UK suppliers than just the Avnet group (i.e. RS, Farnell, CPC et al). Even if you are paying a higher unit price for components, you may not have to pay the ridiculous service charge just to process and post your order. This is a universal component, easy to find almost anywhere, so why not search others instead of the commercial traders who are really only interested in commercial sized business (> £50 per order)
In this country, RS and Element14 (i.e. Farnell) usually waive delivery charges for orders over $50 which keeps them in business but there are branches of hobbyist parts suppliers in every city here, where I can pick up small items on a retail shopping trip, any day of the week. I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same in the UK.

Sure, townships typically aren't big enough to support electronic component or any specialised parts stores, for that matter. Occasionally, I combine my shopping and drive 25km to my small regional city to deal with the ever-growing list of needed parts but that's still cheaper than dealing with the pinchpenny large component stockists and quicker than 8+ weeks for suspect quality or fake parts from China.
As said, there are other suppliers too - ever tried searching them? Though they may not have what you need, Cricklewood Electronics, for example, charges only £3.25 +VAT for small orders. Opening Times & Address Details | CCTV DVRs | HD CCTV

There was a time every UK town had a Maplin's, these days I don't think they stock parts?
Second Ian's recommendation, Cricklewood were great to deal a few years back.

This a reply from the Ebay shop I bought them from. "As far as I know these are genuine parts, we normally buy surplus stock from companies that have any excess or cease trading".
Hi guys had another look on RS please can you tell me if this one will work? Thanks
