For Sale Audio Note DAC 5

For sale is an Audio Note Dac 5 in parts. The boards have already been assembled except for the analog board. It has the galahad power supply. I believe the green board is an experimental analog boarf. The extra boards are not populated and are exact boards used in the dac 5. This are all untested and will need to be assembled. All transformers are complete. There is bo chassis. I don’t know the history of where they came from as I only got them on a trade.

This is your chance to own a great dac provided you can assemble it. The Dac 5 sells for $30k.

It has the famous AN toroid SPDIF transformer 🙂

It looks like magnetics are made by Heyboer Transformer Inc. in Michigan . At least main power transformer , filament transformer and the choke. They make good quality stuff.
I/V transformer appears to be original AN unit or a premium (not standard) ANK (kits) product and it tends to cost real money.. Output transformers are enigma. The leftover wire on the connecting points would help to guide what goes where and the dac could be made to work in a one evening.

Pretty optimistic calling this AN dac5. BTW: For instance the digital board is the same from dac1 - dac5.
No guarantee that the I/V tranformer conversion is implemented good with the diy analog board provided either.
By all means, it could sound good..

ANK transformers are not Audio Note transformers. I'd expect no name trans to be on the same plane or better to what's in the kit
