not sure if any of you have seen this problem on your CD or DVD player...
I have a Pioneer DV-S9, a solid tank DVD player, recently it started to behave strangely (You may refer to the video link attached).
I have owned other players, in case of laser failure they will show "error" or "no disc" on the display and there will be no red dot, or in case of spindle motor failure the disc will not rotate...
But this time the player is too weird for me, the reading sequence started normally, the laser moved and the red dot is clear, but seems like the player cannot recognize the disc and then automatically eject the tray.
I've checked the PSU, outputs are all OK, checked the caps on the boards and they seem still intact, checked connectors and flat cables and they are all good...

Any clue? What do you suggest me to further check? thanks.

New tray belt...
It confuses the player if the tray is not loaded within time.
Loose belt slows it down......
And gently clean the lens with tissue soaked in iso propyl alcohol.

uhm... there is a lever switch to detect once the tray retracts to the its closing position, i don't think i has anything to do with timing...
belt is still tight...
I cleaned the lens with Isopropyl alcohol.
The problem still persist... after laser focusing, pickup fro-back, disc spinning, as soon as the player should start PLAYING, it eject the tray.
By the way the player can recognize CD, DVD.... but just failed playing

JVC HR7600MS VCR had this problem too
It would load cassette, tape would come around spinning VHS head, and then it would put the thing out.
Took it to a repair man, he changed the belt that worked the mechanism to load the tape around the head, and all was well.
He said it was a timer issue, if the tape was not loaded around the head within so many clock cycles, it would think "ERROR" and push the cassette out.
Same thing happens in optical drives, if the tray does not touch the end within time, it gives an error by pushing out the tray.
Clean and check the lever switch, and then push the tray gently while it is going in.
That will tell you if my theory is correct.
Also, a weak laser may not sense CD-R, try with pre recorded CD/DVD. Then laser or IC issue.
