Working on a Power P500-2. The amp is going into protect on and off. No shorts in the output. Pulled the outputs anyway. The amp pulses in and out of protect. Power led and protect led flashing on and off. Anyone have the schematic on this model? It has been released but Rockford can't email schematics any more. You have to submit a question and wait for a response. I've done that but thought someone on here might already have it and I could get it quicker.

Not that I can see. The amp meter jumps around 2 amps when the power supply switches on. I can't feel anything getting hot. I don't know what's triggering the protect. Where to check it.
Pull the rectifiers and reconnect B+ to see what it does.
Did you ask for the driver board diagrams when you emailed Rockford.

There may be a defective protection circuit transistor on one of the driver boards. A diagram would definitely help.
Yes it would. I submitted the request for it. Don't know how long it will take to get it. Thought someone on here might already have it.
Follow up.
Got the schematic from Rockford. They show the different boards mounted on the main board but no schematic for each board. I found the problem to be one of the driver boards. Q200 and Q206 were bad. R219 And R220 looked like they had been hot. They checked good but I replaced them anyway. Q200, Q206, R219 and R220 and the amp is back up and running. Thanks Perry for the help.
