Hello everyone,
I am looking to purchase a TPA3251 board from eBay/Ali. Which board would you recommend? I have read the last 100 pages of the thread titled "TPA3251d2" and all pages in the thread "Aiyima TPA3251 Modification Build Thread !", but could not find the definitive answer to which board is the best.
Unfortunately, 3e Audio does not appear to have any TPA3251 boards in stock, so I am looking at other implementations.
Here are some examples:
1. TPA3251 HIFI Digital Power Amplifier Board Dual Channel 175W+175W Class D Audio Amplificador For Home Theather|Amplifier| - AliExpress
2. TPA3251 two channel digital power amplifier board|Amplifier| - AliExpress
3. TPA3251D2 Digital Power Amplifier Board 175W+175W High end Stereo HiFi Audio Amplifer Class D DC24 36V|Operational Amplifier Chips| - AliExpress

I don't have an answer but just another question. What's the benefit of going with TPA3251 instead of TPA3255? Seems like there are more choices with 3255 boards and some are cheaper as well.
For supply voltages below 36V the TPA3251 is preferrable due to its smaller RDson and hence lower losses. If you buy at serious sources like Mouser this chip is significantly cheaper compared to TPA3255.

I have a lot of high quality 24-36V DC power supplies, so TPA3251 would be a better choice for me than TPA3255.
I just checked the Mouser price. Wow, it's amazing how cheap some of these TPA3255 boards are selling on AliExpress.
Hi DrGenius,
1- I would choose the first one on your list. Daniboun has tested version 3255 of this PCB and finds it good.
2- The second link, a guy on the forum there tested, not bad but there is a slight hiss.
3- The third I would not touch, reminds me of a 3255 trash that I had.
Denis
Edit : For the second link, I'm wrong with the 3221, but same look

If you don't want fake/bad/unknown parts you can always choose an evaluation module from TI.
The EVM for the tpa3251 isn't cheap but it's a good amplifier that can be setup for se,BTL,pbtl. (4,2,1 channel)
If that's too expensive, I'd guess the tpa3220 micro evm is no slouch either. That's the one I'd be getting if I had to choose again.

Hi denbret. Thank you for looking at the links and giving your opinion on each board. I was leaning towards the first board as well. Well, actually I wanted the 3e Audio board, but that ship has sailed.
Thank you for the suggestions, joensd. I am sure that the TPA3251 evaluation module uses high quality components, but it seems too expensive at the moment. TPA3220 micro EVM, on the other hand, looks promising to me.
