And I thought MBL were over the top-

Never heard of this boutique of very over the top looking gear, but boy have they pushed to envelope. I saw some pictures of the Minotaur tower on pintrest, in raw aluminum form, and it looks to be solid billet plates of aluminum from top to bottom. Fascinating stuff. I don't suppose anyone has ever seen or heard a set?

EDIT: They confirm on the website, 4000 Kg of aluminum is used!

From the delivery times, they are only manufactured to order. With all of the wildly different designs listed,
it's doubtful that much (if any) serious acoustical design work has been done on these speakers.

"Lifestyle Bling" pretty much. Probably best described as more of an art piece. I find it hard not to stare just due to the raw material usage. Love it or hate it, they went all in 😀

All in for what? Not sound. And there garish. "obtrusively bright and showy; lurid". Had to make sure of the meaning of garish and the dictionary had a picture of there speaker.😉

Lol! Hey, I'm not here to defend. I give them credit for getting crazy with raw materials. I probably should have left MBL out of the convo. as they clearly are interested in the acoustics, at least that's my assumption.

These designs make me think of a custom commission for a gothic cathedral or something ornate. Probably not great for the o'l living room.

I was initially mesmerized more than anything, due to the bare metal images on pintrest. To me they had an initial wow factor, but as is mentioned, they don't appear to necessarily be special for sound quality. From there it starts to get that bling element going, gold, shiny, pointy, etc. Maybe they do actually sound amazing, but if not they have aesthetic canards weighing in by the ton.

Am I the only one that actually likes these?

Most loudspeakers these days are just boring boxes. At least these are giving you a very different take on that.

Probably.

I like my speakers to look boring, the more visually unobtrusive the better.
Ideally I'd want them to be invisible but soffit mounting is probably as good as it gets. The less visually overpowering speakers are the better the stereo illusion works for me without having to close my eyes while listening.
