Hi Guys,
This amp is from the 80s I think. What do they sound like ? Pretty old so not great ?
Thanks.

Make sure its original China sells copies --cheaply but the original cost ( approx ) £1500+ , some original sell at extortionate prices , that well known Icelander on Head-Fi even imported parts from China for his version .
He says the power supply is built to the same standard as the big Krells --"very stiff" -lots of capacitors which must be replaced after 15 years .
One of the posters comments that it is powerful over 105db -5 Watt-clean power-soundstage "extraordinary "--his words even that well know head-Fi guru I mentioned actually likes it and coming from this highly critical guy on all things headphones who builds and sells and has done for many years that's saying something .
The general consensus there and elsewhere is recap the lot --and there is a lot ! and if its original and not a copy --don't sell it its worth $$$$ .
Many years ago I was on Head-Fi and he is the one person I would trust there along with Kevin Gilmore but now I think he is "excommunicated " as he is a builder/dealer as his posts are old.
After checking -- Chinese clones are inferior and many of the parts are lower grade and that's 7 years of making them --so keep that Krell IF its original .

I am not now, nor have i ever been a dealer. I build only for myself.
I retired 4 years ago, which gives me the time to come out with lots of new
designs. The latest is an electrostatic portable.

I should have made it plainer I was referring to the Icelander guy Mjolir audio who for a long period was a "Guru " on Head-Fi till large commercial interests became involved and was constantly pestered for orders and sold them worldwide .
I remember the notice saying he could no longer directly "sell " his products on the website .
You will not see anywhere on the web where I categorically state you "run a business of designing and selling your designs ".
He actually states "he is your partner " online so maybe that website should adjust it terminology -
Mjolnir-Audio – Home of all things electrostatic
For the record I admire your design work and made that very plainly online as regards electrostatic headphone amplifier designs and would not hesitate to recommend your designs .
As a critical ( at times ) person that's a pretty major statement from me and your designs are loved by many worldwide.
So I reiterate Kevin Gilmore does not run a audio design business .

Amplifiers for electrostatic headphones – Mjolnir-Audio
In case anybody brings this up I have zero commercial links to Mjoinir Audo or any other commercial enterprise.
After Head-Fi went into commercial/financial partnership I started to receive emails inviting me to audio shows in London.
